About Simple is Beautiful
Simple is Beautiful began
in late 2002. I was working at a grocery store at the
time, and my hours were unexpectedly cut back. I
needed an alternative source of income, and a friend
suggested that I make some balms for the holidays and put
them at her little organic food store.
At first I used her simple
recipe of olive oil and beeswax. Several months later,
after researching and trying out various oils, I discovered
shea butter, and I
knew it was what I was looking for. "Silky Body Balm"
was born.
Since then, I've gotten
married and moved to the country. I live with my
husband, Ernest, and our son Alder at Tolstoy Farm near Davenport, Washington.
Ernest repairs and restores violins and bows. Alder is busy exploring the world.
We live with our elder friend Ken and grow a lot of food in
our bountiful garden.
